This ongoing study of beverage residue patterns, inspired by artist Ernie Button's whiskey glass photos in National Geographic, explores double-exposure and mixed-media techniques. The series takes familiar objects and abstracts them visually, seeking out details, colors, & textures and then superimposing them in a way the viewer’s eye did not register initially. Hence, the essence of everyday objects is now examined through an even deeper lens. It may be through noticing patterns or being reminded of a certain feeling, time, or place. Through this experience, emotions reveal themselves and unite with our imagination to identify a purpose, precipitating a state of knowing something that was not known before.
